They never finished eating the appl
e, which later fell on Newton’s head
and awoke the sleepy afternoon
The snake asked a question

A piece of it fell in the middle of the lake
Ripples, like the wings of a butterfly,
nudged time lightly
and baked the storms in history
God asked a question

We can’t remember the garden in the beginning
The apple has fallen to become a symbol
in the palm, emitting weak light that brightens nothing
Buildings are towering tombstones
Inside, life and death repeat infinitely
Clouds heard so many questions
